Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Maroochydore on August 28.

Around 9.45pm, a teenager entered a food store on Aerodrome Road and browsed in the store for around 30 minutes.

During this time, he had a conversation with another teenager who entered the store, but left a short time later.

The teenager then approached the counter and produced a knife and made demands for cash.

The attendant complied and handed the boy a sum of cash, and he has fled the scene and was last seen on Aerodrome Road on foot.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

The male teenager is described as Caucasian in appearance, between 15-18 years of age, around 150cms tall and has a slim build, long brown hair and was wearing a black hooded jumper with a gold logo on the front.

Police are appealing for witnesses, and would like to speak to a man who was in the store shortly before the robbery that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
