Police have arrested a man following a robbery in the CBD overnight.

Just after 3.30am, police were called to a convenience store on King William Street after a man allegedly armed with a knife, threatened staff before leaving with some food items.

He was spotted a short time later on CCTV in Rundle Mall and arrested by patrols.
