A female store employee sustained a laceration to her hand during an attempted armed robbery at Kelvin Grove this evening.
Preliminary advice indicates that two men, one armed with a knife, entered the Bishop Street supermarket around 8.40pm.
The men fled empty handed after failing to steal any money. The female store employee, one of around seven people inside the supermarket at the time, sustained a hand laceration and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.
No one else was physically injured and there is no further information available at this time.
Extensive police patrols, including mobile units, police dog squad and Polair are currently assisting in the search for the two men, who have possibly fled the scene in a car.
