Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a corner store in Lilyfield last night.
About 6.30pm (Thursday 12 November 2015), a 55-year-old woman was working in the corner store on Balmain Road, when a male armed with a knife approached her.
Police have been told the armed man threatened the woman, demanding money.
The male fled the scene, taking cash. He was last seen by a witness running along Helena Street, turning right into Trevor Street.
The woman was uninjured during the incident.
Officers attached to Leichhardt Local Area Command were contacted and established a crime scene.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a male who may be able to assist them.
He is described as being of Asian appearance, in his late 20s or early 30s, about 155cm tall, of slim build and with black hair.
He was seen wearing black pants and jacket with dark coloured running shoes.
Anyone with information, or any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, are urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
