Police are investigating two armed robberies at service stations in Melbourne’s North East believed to have been committed by the same five offenders.
Investigators have been told the five men attended at a service station on the Greensborough Highway on Monday 23 November just after 6am in a stolen vehicle.
It’s believed four men, wearing baseball caps and bandanna’s covering their faces, entered the store while the fifth remained in the stolen Nissan Pulsar.
One of the men, armed with a hammer and another a pruning saw, threatened the attendant while attempting to force entry into the secure staff booth before entry was granted.
The offenders ransacked the cash till and cigarette cabinet before fleeing the store in the stolen sedan south along the Greensborough Highway.
Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives believe the same men are responsible for another armed robbery about 30 minutes later at a service station in Manningham Road, Templestowe Lower.
Detectives have released images of men they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
