A man has been charged and will face court following an investigation into a number of armed robberies in Sydney’s west this year.
In April 2015, officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit formed Strike Force Goode to investigate a number of armed robberies in Sydney’s west.
About 6.45am today (Wednesday 16 December 2015), investigators from Strike Force Goode executed a search warrant at a home on Edmonson Avenue, St Marys, and arrested an 18-year-old man.
The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery with a dangerous weapon (x2), and armed robbery with an offensive weapon (x2).
The charges relate to the following alleged armed robberies:
– A service station on Great Western Highway, Kingswood on Thursday 24 September 2015,
– A service station on Dunheved Road, Werrington on Tuesday 20 October 2015,
– A service station on Great Western Highway, Colyton on Monday 2 November 2015, and
– A street robbery of a man on Chesham Street, St Marys on Monday 16 November 2015.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court today (Wednesday 16 December 2015).
