Fawkner Embona detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Pascoe Vale early this morning.

Police have been told a man armed with a firearm attended a convenience store on Pascoe Street about 12.30am.

The bandit approached the attendant and made demands for cash.

A small amount of cash was handed over and the offender fled the scene.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He’s described as being in his mid-20s, short with a medium build and short brown hair.

At the time he was wearing black track suit pants, black and white shoes and a black hooded jumper with a white motif.
