Police have charged two teens following investigations into an armed robbery at Raymond Terrace yesterday.
On Sunday 6 March 2016, about 7.30am, two males entered a tobacco shop with their faces covered, wearing gloves, and one allegedly armed with a tomahawk.
The pair allegedly threatened the shop assistant with the weapon before stealing cash, cigarettes, lollies and ice-creams.
They ran from the location and were seen getting into a waiting vehicle.
Police from Port Stephens were called and a crime scene was established while further investigations took place.
As a result of those investigations, police today (Monday 7 March 2017) arrested two boys, aged 16, in the Gosford area.
They were taken to Gosford Police Station where they were charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.
They will both appear in a children’s court on Thursday 17 March 2016.
