Police are investigating after two men robbed a Parkinson convenience store this afternoon.

Preliminary information suggests around 1.45pm the men entered the store, located at the corner of Nottingham and Algester roads, and attempted to steal items by placing them inside a bag.

After being confronted by staff members the pair fled outside and into a car park.

Two male employees, aged 46 and 47, followed the men outside. A knife was produced and the employees threatened before one of them was punched once in the face.

The two offenders fled on foot and were last seen running down Nottingham Road.

One of the men is described as possibly Caucasian, approximately 175cms tall and was wearing blue shorts, red shirt and black shoes.
