Police have charged a teenager over an alleged armed robbery on the state’s south coast on Monday.
Shortly after 9pm on Monday (28 March 2016), a 33-year-old woman was behind the counter at a service station on Peterborough Avenue, Lake Illawarra, when an unknown male entered the premises.
Police have been told the male, armed with a knife, demanded money.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were contacted and with assistance from the Dog Unit conducted a search of the area.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station yesterday (Tuesday 29 March 2016), where he was charged with armed robbery with an offence weapon and larceny.
The teen was refused bail to appear at children’s court today (Wednesday 30 March 2016).
