Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a bottle shop in Sydney’s south west yesterday evening.

About 7.30pm (Thursday 31 March 2016), a man armed with a knife entered a bottle shop on Howard Road, Padstow, and threatened two staff members while demanding cash.

The man fled the premises on foot a short time later, with cash, and was last seen running toward Shoults Lane.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Bankstown Local Area Command were alerted and launched an investigation into the incident.

Local police, with assistance from the Dog Unit, conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area; however, the man was not found.

Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being about 185cm tall and of a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper with a white circle across the front and a white t-shirt underneath, dark-blue pants, red gloves and a navy-blue face covering.

The man was also seen carrying a black Billabong backpack with white and green trim across the top of the bag.
