Logan detectives have charged a man following the armed robbery of a service station at Woodridge in the early hours of this morning.

Around 3am, it is alleged the man parked his car at a petrol pump and walked into the Compton Road service station telling the console operator he was armed with a gun

The man then allegedly made demands for money.

The console operator fled to a back room and the man jumped the counter and allegedly stole money from the till as well as cigarettes.

The man fled the scene on foot, leaving behind his car.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

A man was located nearby by police and taken into custody.

A 29-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
