A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Rozelle last month.

Just before 8am on Saturday 9 April 2016, two males, one armed with a knife, entered a convenience store on Darling Street, Rozelle, and allegedly threatened a 28-year-old man working in the store.

It will be alleged the armed pair fled the scene a short time later, taking tobacco and cash.

Officers attached to Leichhardt Local Area Command were notified and established a crime scene.

The employee was uninjured during the incident.

Following investigations, about 10.45pm last night (Friday 13 May 2016), police attended a home on Fraser Avenue, Eastgardens and arrested a 34-year-old man.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and refused bail, to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 14 May 2016).

Inquiries continue.
