Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a service station in Underwood last night.

Around 9.12pm a man entered the Logan Road business and used a milk crate to prevent the doors from closing. The man then walked towards the counter armed with what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the attendant.

The attendant was able to retreat to a staff room and lock the doors.

The man fled on foot and was last seen running along Logan Road towards a car wash. He is described as Caucasian in appearance wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.

No money was taken and no one was physically injured during the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations are continuing.
