Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a service station in Sydney’s south-west last week.

About 11.05pm on Thursday 23rd June 2016, a man armed with a screwdriver entered the store on Punchbowl Road, Lakemba and demanded money from the till.

An employee locked himself in a store room and the man fled the store empty-handed.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command are continuing with inquiries and have now released CCTV images and footage of a man who they believe can assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 175cm – 180cm tall, and with a medium build.

He is depicted wearing a black jumper with a grey hood, black tracksuit pants with white and yellow stripes on the lower portion of each leg and blue runners (similar to Asics pictured).

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man to contact police.
