Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a store in Auburn last night.

About 7.15pm (Wednesday 13 July 2016), two unknown men, one armed with a knife, entered a business on Water Street.

Police have been told one of the men pushed the store attendant, a 51-year-old man, in the chest, causing him to hit his nose on a door. He sustained a minor laceration.

The pair removed cigarettes and cash from behind the counter before leaving the store. They were last seen running south on Woodburn Road.

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended and conducted a search of the surrounding area.

No one was found but numerous items were located seized including a knife, clothing and cash.

Police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first man is described as being in his early 20s, wearing a black baseball cap, a black and brown jacket and black track pants with three white stripes on the leg.

The second man is described as being in his early 20s, wearing a black t-shirt, black hooded jumper with white writing across the front and grey track pants.

Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.
