Police have charged two people following the alleged armed robbery of a Carina supermarket this afternoon.
It will be alleged that around 12.40pm, a man entered the Old Cleveland Road store, approached a 46-year-old female staff member and produced a knife before demanding she hand over money.
The staff member complied and the man fled the store on foot.
After an extensive search of the area by Morningside general duties police, a man and a woman were located in a street behind the supermarket and allegedly in possession of a large amount of cash.
A 25-year-old Bellbird Park man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, August 8.
A 25-year-old Slacks Creek woman was issued with a notice to appear for receiving tainted property.
No one was physically injured during the robbery.
