Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a Rockhampton bottle shop last night.
Around 9.10pm two men entered the Archer Street business while the 26-year-old male attendant was at the rear of the premises.
One of the men approached the counter and attempted to open a cash register, but was confronted by the employee.
The man then produced a knife and demanded cash from the till.
Both men fled on foot empty handed after being challenged by the employee.
The armed man is described as being aged in his late 20s to 30s, approximately 180cm tall with a slim build wearing a dark hoodie covering his head and long track pants.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
