Logan police are investigating a series of incidents that started in Birkdale and ended in Boronia Heights early this morning.

Preliminary investigations suggest that around 2.30am a man attended a service station on Birkdale Road in Birkdale, and attempted to steal a bread truck. The man pushed the 32-year-old male driver out of the driver’s seat before driving away in the truck.

The male driver sustained an arm injury and was transported to Redlands Hospital.

It is alleged the man dumped the vehicle in Warana Court, Boronia Heights where he approached a house armed with a shot gun. A dog at the residence scared the man away and he ran to the neighbouring house where he smashed a door, threatened the residents with a gun and stole a silver sedan. The man fled in the 2012 silver Honda City with Queensland registration 806TCK.

The residents were not physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 40s, approximately 178cm tall with a moderate build and a clean shaven head and face.

If a member of the public sees the vehicle or the man they are asked not to approach but to contact police immediately.

Investigations are continuing.
