Police are investigating after a man reported his car had been stolen by another man armed with a handgun at an Ashmore service station in the early hours of this morning.

The 24-year-old Molendinar man has told police around 4am he got into his car outside the Ashmore Road business when he was approached by a man with a handgun who demanded keys to his vehicle.

He handed over the keys to his car and got out of the vehicle.

The man was not physically injured during the incident.

Police are searching for the man’s car which is a black 2006 Holden Commodore with Queensland registration 996 MDW.

The offender is described as 180cm tall with an Australian accent and was wearing dark clothing with a dark coloured hoodie and a black and white bandanna covering his face.
