A 41-year-old man cleaning a business in Kirwan last night was slightly injured after he struggled with an armed man during an attempted robbery.
Around 11.30pm a man armed with a knife entered a leisure and bowling centre located in Bamford Lane and confronted a male employee, demanding money.
A struggle ensured between the pair resulting in the cleaning receiving several shallow laceration injuries to his chest area, before the offender fled on foot empty handed.
The injured man did not require medical treatment.
Investigations by Townsville detectives are continuing.
The man is described as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, approximately 188cms tall, with a proportionate build and aged in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper and grey three quarter length pants.
