Police have charged a man following two alleged armed robberies in Brisbane’s north earlier this week.

It is alleged on October 24 around 12.50pm a man armed with a knife entered a convenience store on Gympie Road at Chermside and threatened a male attendant before making demands for cash.

The attendant complied and the man allegedly fled the premises with a sum of money.

It is further alleged on October 26 around 3.30pm a man armed with a metal bar entered a newsagency on Saint Vincents Road at Banyo and threatened a male attendant before making demands for cash.

The attendant complied and the man allegedly fled the business with a sum of money.

No one was physically injured in either incident.

A 27-year-old Bracken Ridge man has been charged with two counts of armed robbery and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
