Police have charged a man following the investigation of an alleged armed robbery that occurred in Maroochydore on Friday.

It will be alleged at about 11.30am, a man armed with a knife entered a fast food outlet on the corner of Maroochydore and Broadmeadows roads. The man gave a note with demands for money to a female store employee. The employee placed a sum of cash into a bag held by the man before he fled the scene.

Police arrested a man at 12.30am on Sunday, November 13 at Mudgeeraba.

A 28-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Count today, November 14.
