Detectives are appealing for information concerning ongoing investigations into a number of armed robberies at service stations in the Hunter Region earlier this year.

The State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Benni earlier this year to investigate armed robberies at service stations in Muswellbrook, Maitland, Raymond Terrace, Heatherbrae and Islington in June and July this year.

Following the attempted armed robbery at a service station on Maitland Street, Muswellbrook, about 10.15pm on Monday 6 June 2016, a group of men were seen near the railway station.

As their inquiries continue, Strike Force detectives have today (Friday 2 December 2016), released images of a male they believe can assist with inquiries.

He is depicted as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late teens, with a slim build and dark hair.

This male, or anyone who knows his identity, or has information that may assist detectives, is urged to come forward.

Three men have been previously arrested and charged in connection with Strike Force Benni. Their matters remain before the court.
