A woman has been charged following investigations into an armed robbery at Redhead earlier this year.

About 2.20pm on Saturday 16 April 2016, a woman and two men entered a bottle shop on Cowlishaw Street and approached the counter.

One of the men was allegedly armed with a machete and threatened the 59-year-old employee demanding money from the till.

The employee handed over an amount of cash and the trio fled the store.

Police were called and a investigation was commenced.

Today (Thursday 8 December 2016), Lake Macquarie detectives attended a correctional facility in Silverwater where they interviewed a 24-year-old woman and later charged her with robbery in company.

She will appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on 12 December 2016.
