Detectives are investigating after a bakery in Wavell Heights was robbed earlier this morning.

Shortly before 6am, a man entered the business on Rode Road armed with a large knife.

He made demands for money and when staff complied, he fled the scene with a sum of cash and was last seen leaving on a motorcycle.
No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

A short time later police were notified by members of the public of a traffic incident on Miller Street, Chermside involving the same motorcycle.

Initial information suggests the rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed before getting back on the bike and fleeing.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, wearing long pants, a maroon and blue short sleeved jumper with a long sleeved white shirt underneath, black helmet with a red horizontal stripe on the back.

The motorcycle was described as blue and white in colour with a blue milk crate strapped to the back.

Police are also investigating if the same man was involved in the attempted armed robbery of a bakery on Shaw Road around 5.55am.

Investigations are continuing.
