Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with attempted armed robbery following police investigations into an incident at a Burleigh Waters adult store last night (December 22).
Police will allege two teens, one armed with a baton, entered the Reedy Creek business around 11.20pm and demanded cash. They threatened a 26-year-old male employee, striking out at him with a baton.
The man dodged the baton strike with it connecting instead with a computer and knocking it to the ground. The pair then damaged property in the store before fleeing.
A dog squad officer and his police dog, responding to the incident, quickly located a track and followed it to a nearby skate park where the youths were located.
Both boys are from Varsity Lakes.
