Police are investigating after an armed robbery in Blayney overnight.

Police have been told about 10pm (Sunday 22 January 2017), a man entered a service station on Orange Road, Blayney, carrying a firearm.

The man then threatened the shop assistant and demanded money before he left on foot headed towards Binstead Street.

Officers from Chifley Local Area Command attended the location and commenced investigations.

Police wish to speak to a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance and about 160cm tall with a large build and dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black and green long sleeved jumper with a white stripe through the middle and cream coloured pants.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.
