Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Glebe.

Emergency services were called to a store on Broadway, Glebe about 4pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 February 2017), following reports of an armed robbery.

Initial investigations suggest that a man entered the store and threatened a staff member with a firearm, before attempting to steal money from the till. However, the man was unable to do so and fled the store on foot.

Officers from Leichardt Local Area Command attended and launched an investigation into the matter.

As a part of their inquiries, officers would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with the investigation.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his late 20s. The man was wearing a black zip jacket, dark t-shirt, a cap or beanie and sunglasses.
