Police have arrested five males following a series of armed robberies in Melbourne’s southern suburbs late last night.
The alleged incidents are as follows:
• An armed robbery at a service station on Blackburn Road near Ferntree Gully Road in Notting Hill about 11.05pm;
• An armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Westall Road near Osborne Avenue in Springvale about 11.35pm;
• An armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Edithvale Road near Wells Road in Chelsea Heights about 11.45pm.
Two of the men were arrested on Dulcie Court in Noble Park North about 12.55am this morning.
The remaining three men were arrested a short time later on Alamein Street in Noble Park with the assistance of the Canine Unit.
Rocky, one of the dogs involved, completed his first arrest.
Five males, three 17-year-olds, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, are currently in custody and are assisting police with their enquiries.
