A man has been charged following investigations into an attempted armed robbery at Kingsgrove yesterday.
Police will allege about 6.30pm (Friday 23 June 2017), a man carrying a knife and his face covered, ran into a convenience store on Proctor Avenue and confronted a male shop worker at a counter.
The shop worker was able to close a security door, before the man attempted to open it and ran from the store.
A short time later, officers from Campsie Local Area Command arrested a 21-year-old man on Miller Street, Kingsgrove.
He was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with assault with intent to rob and being armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 24 June 2017).
