Police have released CCTV images following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west earlier this month.

Officers attached to Liverpool Local Area Command attended a newsagent on Flowerdale Road, Liverpool, just after 8.30am on Thursday 17 August 2017, following reports of a robbery.

One male, who was armed with a firearm, entered the store and threatened the employee, before waiting at the entrance of the store. A second man approached the counter and demanded money from the victim.

The pair fled the scene with a small sum of money and were last seen heading down Hoxton Park Road.

A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway, with police seeking to speak to the man depicted in the images who might be able to assist with inquiries.

The first male is described as being in his mid 20s and is depicted in the image wearing a black hooded jumper with white logo on upper left side, dark pants and white shoes, with the hood over his head.

The second man is described as being in his mid 20s and of thin build. He was last seen wearing a white Nike hat, navy blue hooded jumper with a white logo on front, dark pants and blue shoes. He also had a large watch on his left wrist and a tattoo on his right outer wrist.

This incident followed a robbery at a fast food outlet in Lyn Street, Prestons on Wednesday 16 August 2017.

Investigators believe the two incidents are linked and seek public assistance. Inquiries continue into both incidents.
