A man has been taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds after a robbery in the Sydney CBD early this morning.

About 12.50am (Wednesday 4 October 2017), a 27-year-old man left a licensed premises and was walking towards his vehicle on Point Street, Pyrmont, when he was approached by two men.

The two men demanded cash before stabbing the man in the chest. The duo fled with cash.

The injured man was able to drive himself to a licensed premises on Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont, where he contacted triple zero and officers attached to Sydney City Local Area Command attended.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment to multiple stab wounds. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Officers established a crime scene on Point Street, Pyrmont, which will be forensically examined.

As investigations continue, police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist their inquiries.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his teens, and was last seen wearing a black cap, a black jumper and white pants.

The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his teens. He was last seen wearing a black cap, a black jumper and light coloured jeans.
