Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west tonight.

Just before 9pm (Wednesday 8 November 2017), police have been told a man entered a store on Hoxton Park Road, Prestons, armed with a firearm.

The man reportedly fired shots while threatening staff. He fled the scene empty handed in a silver Mitsubishi Lancer on Hoxton Park Road.

No one was injured.

Police attached to Liverpool Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Investigators wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, and wearing dark-coloured jeans and a long-sleeved white shirt.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
