11 November 2017 – Armed Robbery – Hotel – Greenbank

Detectives are investigating after two men attempted to rob a hotel in Greenbank in the early hours of this morning.

Around 2.40am two men, one armed with a chainsaw and the other armed with a small axe have entered the hotel on Pub Lane and have demanded cash from staff.

A security guard has confronted the men demanding they leave and during this time the man with the chainsaw has started it and has struck the bar area causing damage to it.

The man with the axe has approached the security guard and has punched him in the face.

Both men have then left the premises on foot.

The security guard has been treated on scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
