A man has been charged following investigations into an attempted armed robbery at a Kippa Ring car park yesterday afternoon.

At 4.35pm, a 24-year-old woman and a six-year-old child were returning to their vehicle when they were approached by a man in the car park of a fast food restaurant on Anzac Avenue.

It will be alleged the man demanded the woman’s car keys before intimating that he had a knife in his bag.

The woman refused and the man left the scene.

It will be further alleged that when police arrived at the scene they located a man running from the car park.

No-one was physically injured.

A 33-year-old Clontarf man is scheduled to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today charged with attempted robbery, threatening violence, possessing dangerous drugs, wilful damage and an unrelated charge of threatening violence.
