Police are appealing for public assistance over an armed robbery at a service station in Glen Innes yesterday.

About 10pm (Monday 29 January 2018), police have been told a man and a woman, armed with a carving knife, entered a store on Church Street.

They threatened a 26-year-old male employee before stealing a cash register.

No one was physically injured.

A third man was waiting outside and the group fled on foot.

Police from New England Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Investigators wish to speak with two men and a woman who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

One man has been described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, slim build, and was wearing a blue and white hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, and black and white running shoes.

A woman has been described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, large build, with long black hair and blonde tips, wearing a grey jumper, grey pants and carrying a grey shopping bag.

The second man has been described as 165cm tall and wearing a black and white top.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
