Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel in Oxley early this morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 3.10am, three men, two armed with a firearm and the other with a machete and knife have entered the hotel on Blunder Road threatening staff and making demands for money.
Staff have complied with their demands and handed over cash.
As the men were leaving the premises a security guard has approached them and was assaulted by one of the men.
The two members of staff were not physically injured and the security guard did not require medical treatment.
The men have then left the hotel in a vehicle.
Investigations are continuing.
