Two juveniles have been arrested and charged after an alleged robbery of another teen on a train between Granville and Liverpool.

About 7.45pm yesterday, (Sunday 24 July 2011), an 18-year-old youth boarded a train at Granville bound for Liverpool.

As the youth sat in the carriage he was allegedly approached by a group of four youths who demanded he hand over his phone.

The teen complied by handing over the property and reported the incident to security as he arrived at Yennora Station.

A short time later, officers attached to the Commuter Crime Unit located the four youths at Liverpool Railway Station. The youths were searched and police allegedly located a mobile phone.

The youths were taken to Liverpool Police Station where they were interviewed.

Two of the juveniles, aged 12 and 14, were each charged with robbery in company and are expected to appear in Campbelltown Children’s Court on 22 August.

The other two youths were released pending further inquiries.
