A man has been charged over the alleged assault of a bus driver in Sydney’s west last week.
About 5.45pm last Wednesday (20 July 2011), a 44-year-old bus driver was allegedly punched in the face by a passenger while at a bus stop on Chestnut Crescent, Bidwill.
The bus driver suffered a fractured nose as a result of the attack and sought medical treatment.
Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command were investigating the matter and arrested a 42-year-old man at a railway station at Windsor yesterday (Monday 25 July 2011).
He was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court on Tuesday 16 August 2011.
