A man has been charged after multiple armed robberies in Sydney’s south-west this week.

About 7.15pm Sunday (2 October 2011), a man entered a liquor store on Stockton Avenue, Moorebank, and selected a quantity of alcohol.

He allegedly threatened the store employee with a knife before running from the store with the alcohol.

About 7pm Monday (3 October 2011), a man entered a service station on Stockton, Avenue, Moorebank, allegedly armed with a blood-filled syringe.

The man allegedly threatened the console attendant and demanded cash, before running from the store with a sum of cash.

Just after midnight Tuesday (4 October 2011), a man filled a white Toyota Camry with petrol at a service station on Milperra Road, Revesby, and allegedly drove away without paying.

About 3.40pm Tuesday (4 October 2011), a man approached the counter at a tobacconist on Barry Road, Chipping Norton, and asked for a quantity of cigarettes.

He allegedly threatened the employee with a knife and ran from the store with the cigarettes, before driving away in a white Toyota Camry.

Police from Liverpool Local Area Command attended locations of the armed robberies and conducted inquiries.

About 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 5 October 2011), officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were patrolling Ingleburn Road, Ingleburn, when they noticed a man acting suspiciously.

The 21-year-old man allegedly ran from police and they chased after him.

He was arrested a short distance away and was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.

He was subsequently charged with dishonestly obtain property by deception and three counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon.
