Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night in Sydney’s south west.
About 8.20pm (Thursday 6 October 2011), two men entered a convenience store on Gillies Street, Lakemba.
The men threatened the owner and an employee with knives, and demanded money. The male employee handed over cash from the register.
The men then fled the store with an amount of cash and were seen to drive off in a dark-coloured 4WD.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police from Campsie Local Area Command and specialist forensics officers attended the scene and conducted inquiries.
Detectives would like to speak to two men they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
The first man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, being of solid build, and between 170-180cm tall. He was wearing a green hooded jumper, a black t-shirt, black pants, a dark-coloured cloth covering the lower part of his face and black gloves.
The second man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, being of medium build, and 185cm tall. He was wearing dark blue clothing, a dark-coloured cloth covering the lower part of his face and black gloves.
