Police are investigating the armed robbery of a 24-year-old man at Broadbeach early this morning.
Shortly after midnight, the man was walking along the Gold Coast Highway when he was approached by two men asking for money for the bus.
When the victim reached for his wallet, one of the offenders pressed an unknown weapon against the man’s back before taking him to a nearby service station, where he was forced to withdraw a sum of money from an Automatic Teller Machine.
The man was then taken to a nearby park and assaulted.
The offenders fled the scene on foot, and were last seen heading north on the Gold Coast Highway.
The 24-year-old man sustained bruising and abrasions to the head and a suspected fractured jaw.
The first offender is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, approximately 183cms tall with a proportionate build.
The second offender is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, approximately 188cms tall with a proportionate build and dark brown hair.
