Police have charged a man over the armed robbery of a bowling club on Sydney’s north shore last year.
About 11pm on Friday 23 September 2011, staff and patrons at the bowling club on River Road West at Longueville were threatened and robbed of cash at knife-point.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit have been investigating the robbery.
There investigation culminated earlier today with the arrest of a 27-year-old man at a home on Sheffield Street in Auburn
Police also seized a rifle, a machete and ammunition inside the man’s bedroom. It will be alleged the rifle was one stolen during a robbery at an Auburn gun club in 2010.
The man has been charged with armed robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of a firearm and ammunition.
He has been refused bail and will appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow.
