Mirrabooka Detectives are calling for information regarding an attempted armed robbery on an elderly man in Mirrabooka on
Saturday 25 February, 2012. Between 3.00am and 3.15am, the 78 year old victim withdrew cash from the Commonwealth ATM outside the Mirrabooka Shopping Centre on Yirrigan Drive. As the victim turned to walk to his car, he was approached by a man who threatened him, claiming he had a firearm. The victim did not see a weapon however the offender continued to threaten him saying it was a hold up. The victim removed his mobile phone from his belt when a second offender who was standing nearby, knocked it from his hand and onto the ground.
The victim then managed to push past the offenders and get into his car.
Investigators would like to speak to the men pictured who they believe can assist with their inquiries. The first man is described as dark skinned, approximately 30 years of age, between 185 and 190cm tall and short dark hair.
He was wearing a red chequered shirt.
The second man is described as dark skinned, in his mid-twenties, between 170 and 175cm tall and short dark hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt with “Save me from my life” written on the back.
