Police have charged a 19-year-old Redland Bay man with two counts of armed robbery after two separate incidents in the Logan District this month.

Around 8pm, the man allegedly entered a supermarket on Ascot Drive, Loganholme and threatened a staff member with a baseball bat before attempting to flee the scene with a sum of cash.

A member of the public was able to stop the man until police arrived.

The man was also charged in relation to the alleged armed robbery of a supermarket on Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road in Cornubia on May 8.

He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow to face
