Police are currently investigating two armed robberies that occurred in Beerwah this afternoon.

Around 3.15pm, a male entered a Peachester Road restaurant and produced what appeared to be a syringe.

He made demands for money before staff complied and handed over a sum of cash.

The man has then crossed Peachester Road and entered a discount store where he produced a knife and demanded money.

The attendant complied and the man left the scene with a sum of cash and was last seen running along Blackbutt Street.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, in his mid to late 20s, around 172cm tall with a slim build and a dark brown beard.

He was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and blue jeans.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
