Sturt Police are currently searching the Morphettville area after a man robbed the Morphettville Post Office this afternoon.

Just after 2pm, a man wearing a full face motorcycle helmet and carrying a handgun, threatened staff at the Post office at the corner of Denham Ave and Morphett Road.

The suspect fled with a small amount of cash.  There are no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man with a stocky build, wearing a black puffy jacket, grey track pants and carrying a black satchel over his shoulder.

He had a full-face red white and blue motorcycle helmet with a white zigzag pattern on it.  He left the scene on a black pushbike with flat handle bars, last seen riding east.
