Police are investigating an armed robbery at a service station in Sydney’s west last night.

About 10.15pm (Sunday 27 May), two men wearing hooded jackets entered the service station on the Great Western Highway at Minchinbury and approached the male employee.

One of the men produced a handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The pair left the scene with a quantity of each.

The 32-year-old employee was not injured and police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command were called to the scene.

A police dog tracked the offenders to nearby Pinegrove Cemetery where the scent was lost.

Police believe the offenders might have had a vehicle waiting for them in that area.
