A Wallaroo man has been arrested following a robbery at a local Wallaroo Hotel last night.

Just before 9.30pm, the man allegedly armed with a firearm threatened staff at the Weeroona Hotel and demanded money then fleeing on foot.  Local police enquiries led police to a local Wallaroo home.

On arrival a car containing the suspect was seen leaving the house and was stopped by police.

A search of the car found cash allegedly stolen from the hotel and clothing worn by the suspect during the robbery.

The 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and is expected to appear in court later today.
